Ruth Tarrant
British Weightlifting Instructor
Bio
Ruth is a qualified British Weightlifting Instructor, member of the England Kettlebell Sport Team and co-founder of Winchester Kettlebell Club, alongside her job in education. She is also a qualified rugby coach and rowing coach, although since the onset of perimenopause tends to prefer less mud and drier land! Having been a competitive rower throughout her twenties, and a later convert to running in her thirties, Ruth hit perimenopause in her mid-30s resulting in the inability to do very much exercise at all due to fractures, illness and fatigue. As part of her exercise rehab programme, she discovered weight training and developed a passion and talent for kettlebell sport lifting, learning how to re-move her body and work with her symptoms, not against. She loves to share her passion for weight-based training with other women, as well as those with learning difficulties and other life-challenges. Ruth can provide advice on getting started with weights, safe technique, healthy joints and bones through weight training, kit and equipment, and exercise programmes.
Testimonial
“I’m a kettlebells novice but under Ruth’s guidance have become evangelical about the benefits. Her virtual classes are the highlights of my week. It provides the most brilliant workout both aerobically and for strength – important after cancer treatment and through perimenopause. Ruth is an inspirational coach combining motivation with good humour. Kettlebells are now a permanent fixture in my fitness regime”. Lisa, Windsor.
