Estrogen Matters

estrogen-matters-book-cover

For years, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) was hailed as a miracle. Study after study showed that HRT, if initiated at the onset of menopause, could ease symptoms ranging from hot flashes to memory loss; reduce the risk of heart disease, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, and some cancers; and even extend a woman’s overall life expectancy. But when a large study by the Women’s Health Initiative announced results showing an uptick in breast cancer among women taking HRT, the winds shifted abruptly, and HRT, officially deemed a carcinogen, was abandoned.

Sorry it’s me again…thanks so much for all this information. I feel I have found lots of advice on here rather than calling the Doctors!
Is there any point? I know alot of you are saying bloods came back normal. (I’m terrified of needles).. There is history of cancer in my family (mum passed away and my little sister got it age 32 but she is 8 years clear) so do not Think they can offer me HRT or anything 😲 but my mum’s cancer was oestrogen related and her cancer was called “Pre-menopausal cancer” at age 47 ..she passed age 54..which is scaring the living daylights out of me because alot of you are mentioning “high oestrogen” Is anyone else in the same boat or have advice ?
    Natalie age 44
